Introducing SABRE (an AMR product) to the group in 1985, jointly developing and implementing a unique Tariff Management Software, ITA members were always a step ahead.

To stay an ITA member is challenging and some prominent members have left the club as they lacked to understand the immense return of investment of some joint projects. Later some have re-joined by the experience of expensive individual project development.

AIRQUEST, the first ITA Tariff Management Software has been developed by Rudi Weissmann and Uli Sambeth in Germany. The content of the database represented the standards and requirements of more than 20 member countries Based on ISO, IATA and AIRIMP standards, ITA guarantees the further evelopment and integration by automators and web solutions.

In November 1995 TISS.COM has launched its Reservation Web Site with the Airquest structure incorporated as the database source. ITA members and other Airquest users were now able to use ONE STRUCTURE for this Web-Server. For data exchange between clients and partner agencies Airquest has always provided disk and file exchange. The ITA Internet Mall is another powerful channel using the member’s data source.

ITA financed an advertising campaign for TISS.COM as ITA-Server with in the print media. With the introduction of SABRE reservation facilities in August 1996, clients are now able to choose from 22 suppliers around the globe and make their own reservations. Only when the travel agent displayed is an ITA member it can be guaranteed that the ticket can be delivered worldwide at lowest cost.

In 1998 ITA is the first travel agency network with international discount fares represented on the Internet!

In 2001 ITA started its campaign to create a more advanced and reliable data communication system within the association. With Gateway B.V. Belgium joining ITA it gained the leadership once more providing outstanding data quality enabling its members to sell online via Internet Booking Engines (IBE).

The latest development of the association, www.ita-travel.com, went online in 2002.
