ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP
Full ITA membership provides the opportunity to access discounted airfares available only in local markets and therefore give you a crucial competitive edge. This offers all the benefits of a global alliance that would normally be denied to you as an independent agent.
As a member you can offer your clients an overseas point of contact in terms of rebooking and re-ticketing via the offices of other members. This can be a real customer benefit for multinational clients, especially when combined with the prestige of having a trusted international associate, plus the fact that he would also provide additional help by offering local travel advice.
(All members are currently working towards the provision of Internet on line net fares data base (BOOK EXPRESS) and the Board recognizes that this will play a crucial role increasing profitability and sales for all members)
Full ITA membership is at a cost of 350.00 Euro per year and we ask that you complete the attached online application. Go to New Members and then at the bottom apply button .The membership year runs from the date of the annual meeting .A minimum requirement is that you are a member of the national travel trade board in your country of operation. Your membership number is therefore requested at the time of application so that we can validate this information.
Full membership confers voting rights at the annual meeting and it is a requirement of your membership that you attend this meeting at least annually. At the discretion of the board full members who do not maintain this requirement may have their membership terminated or reduced to associate member status.
Other than the social aspects of attending annual meetings, venues are chosen because of their relevance to our industry and are decided by a majority vote at the close of each annual meeting. The 2004 annual meeting took place in Bali in last May, and the 2005 annual meeting will take place in Cape Town, South Africa, from the 6th to the 8th May.
The Board is seeking active participation of the voting members hence the requirement to attend meetings annually as a minimum requirement of continued membership. Only by the exchange of information, experiences and opinions, can the aspirations of this association to be a leading international forum for independent travel agencies be achieved.
The Board is responsive to the needs of members and welcomes active participation in the association's affairs.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP
The Board of ITA accepts also associate membership from non-agent service providers and suppliers, such us car rental companies, cruise companies and accommodation wholesalers
Associate membership costs 175.00 Euro per year and although it does not offer voting rights, it does offer opportunities to promote your product to all ITA members who as you can see operate across the globe.
